Hi John,,thanks for the comment...All I hear and read from people is that they use protopic and talk to doctors...and how to cope with Vit... I cant stand it...It is an autoimmune deficiency...still people are saying stay out of the sun..its creating more spots...Thats insane..its exposing spots...some lady said that if anyone claims (I guess that s me) that Vitiligo is curable..She will run fast in the opposite direction !!!! I hoe she does...I hate whiners.... I just refuse to sit back and let vitiligo take overmy sons skin and his life... Do yourself a favor..look up a woman named Wanakee Hill on facebook...she has a lotion which I put on my sons Vit year round..ESPECIALLY in the summer...It works as a natural suntan lotion.. I truly have no affiliation with her..I pay the same price as everyone else... But along with proper eating habits....This lousy condition is reversible..Its happening on my sons shins and eyelids...and sides of his lips... call me if you want...201 788 4564...this Vitiligo pisses me off so much..when I see someone with it ..I go out of my way to talk to them...I wish I had it instead of my son.,,,but I dont...that makes me more passionate to to find the right balance of food..lotion and vitamins...
oh i am vegetarian (by default ) ... i also thought of organic food but it is quite expensive as of now here so can't incorporate it in daily intake. My intake of refined food is also restricted to bread in breakfasts alone which i am trying reduce gradually from breakfast while oats and other alternatives.
So yes i eat all healthy diet am trying to make some change on areas which can help.
and my vitiligo is stable from many years..it is also not much ... what i have causes stress.. i am struggling to repigment leftout old spots which are on boney surfaces like ankles , few finger tips , soles/palms so sides of feet and hand. Have little on knees and elbows which got half re-pigmented but half is yet to fill in.
I heard about coconut oil so was wondering did it help re-pigment alone in your case ?
I have used protopic on lips which helped me , rest i don't have on face. And have taken/applied only one medicine in lifetime that is psoralea corylifolia , well it is good . But for old spot which i mentioned do get pinkish color , but do not freckle cause this medicines cause skin irritation on boney surfaces on application .. it doesn't itch or irritate otherwise (never) ...only when i apply this medicine it does can't tolerate this irritation am wondering if coconut oil will help me here ?
Basically trying to find some other cure for these spots cause this treatment doesn't work well for boney surfaces.
Thank you for responding. I have heard the dietary argument and more specifically the processed meat, and food that we consume and its harmful effects. I even had a family member in london have success in getting pigmentation back in his skin after he decided to go vegitarian and really watch his diet. I think I am going to try this method, and the chickpea method as well. As well as explore, and educate myself on all other options. Please keep me posted on the things that you guys are doing, as im sure it will be beneficial to me. Thank you very much again.
I have contacted it in the same exact areas as your son has. My doctor told me that it would be easier to get rid of bc its on my face and neck. However It keeps growing in the same area and no where else. In my picture you can see it, even though its covered up with some makeup. What treatments are you doing now?? and does that remedy of oils, and chickpea nuts really work?? thanks, and good luck with the fight.
