About Me:

I've been diagnosed with Vitiligo since I was 16. I am 27 now and I have been living with it quite comfortably. I have gotten to the point where my Vitiligo is a conversation starter. While at the same time it has made me a confident and stronger person.

  • Hi Thavy,
    Thanks for the add!
  • AHhh thavy!
My life is insane right now it just seems like nothing is going right for me. Just when i think things couldn't get any worse they do or there about to get better they don't lol. It's just when of those times for me. I starting to panic all the stress and anxiety i'm having i've noticed my skin is becoming very itchy and i start to scratch like crazy thats normally when i begin to develope a new spot. =( just when i started to consider starting treatment but if i do it wont be till january of next year. Did you just graduate? Why are u stressing? Did you not get the intership u wanted?
  • Hey Thavy,
Just stopped by to say hello. Hope all is well.

  • Thank you , I love your positive vibe and i will definately do that. Take care:)
  • PS I think you should try the sunscreen out but maybe get a higher SPF, but for sure ask your dermatologist b/c they can give you the best suggestion...maybe they can give you one that enables the skin to tan while blocking out the harmful rays...just a thought...
  • Aimee Nelson said… Yeah, I know what you mean...my spots get a little burned and some red color to them in the sun. However, the thing about the sun that scares me the most is not the burn b/c for some reason I barely get burned, it's mainly red...anyway, what scares me the most is the fact that our white spots are highly suseptible to skin cancer which is why we are suppose to wear sunscreen every day on all exposed spots, even when there is no sun it is still there, behind the clouds and is still penetrating the skin...of course I don't always do it but should...
    Blessings

  • Yeah, I know we have to be careful when it comes to the sun. I usually wear a hat and stay under a umbrella if I go during the day and apply sunscreen pretty often it usually works for me. I haven't gotten burn in a while but i don't like pushing my luck. By the time I got there yesterday the sun was almost gone but I still wore suncreen lmao.
  • Dude--by the way: you're amazing.
  • That makes me wonder if we might not be able to get him to do a live meeting with our group? Would you be up for trying to track down a way to contact him?
