By this time I was having UVB to stimulate the process to work faster - which did seem to help (despite the fact that PUVA had never helped at all in the past).

  • You can find a list of the ingredients of Boost on the supplements page of my story site.  Interesting that D3 is referred to as the sunshine vitamin.  One of the key ingredients in Green Magic is Hawaiian spirulina, known as the "eating sunshine plant".  It kind of makes sense, doesn't it, that we need to get sunshine into our system if we want our skin to pigment properly!

  • oh i too take antioxidants , vitamains , mineral and nutrients :)

have you considered taking vitamin d3 supplements too..Renale says its sunshine vitamin :)  as your taking uvb may help..

For Boost what is the composition or ingredients ?? don't see details listed online

i sometimes apply Psoralea corylifolia but somehow it does not suit my system , cause skin irritation with uvb exposure so dont use it quite often i a weeks time.

  • I started to re-pigment before I even started UVB. I only decided to go for UVB treatment to speed the re-pigmentation process up.  In my case it was actually taking nutritional supplements that triggered my re-pigmentation (the full story is on my website www.vitiligoprotocol.co.uk).

Applying aloe vera sounds like a good idea.  Anything that soothes the irritated skin after UV sessions will help.  I had UVB 3 times a week for about a year and a half.  But, as I was re-pigmenting anyway, I don't think I actually needed to carry on for so long.

Hands and feet are notoriously difficult to re-pigment but it's worth having patience.  These are still not fully re-pigmented in my case, but I'm still progressing slowly in those areas, so am hopeful that I'll eventually get there.

  •  don't apply anything during exposure but after uvb which is actually once a week (currently till my tolerance level increases)... but i apply after that aloe vera which is soothing and has cell regeneration, healing properties.

After how many times( i mean after 10 session or ?? sessions) .... post uvb exposure did u see any freckling ..

Also did u give uvb exposure for 1 min or more and how many times in a week. any success on hand finger or feet  :)

  • Thanks for that, NJ.  Yes - it is a good sign if your vitiligo patches look a bit pink.  Apparently - so my UVB nurse explained to me when I was having light treatment - the idea is to "irritate" the skin into producing pigment.  So, you want it to be a bit pink, but not burnt.  Are you on supplements too?  My own theory is that UVB will probably only work (and produce permanent results) if you are supplying your body with whatever it is missing.  Good luck in any case - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :)

  • Hi Caroline congrats and happy repigmenting!! i am beginner with uvb and my vit looks pink these days is it good sign ? please suggest how u increased time interval to exposure and which supplements you used

  • Thanks Caroline!
  • Hi Judit,

No, I had UVB on my entire body.  But I have finished my course now and am still re-pigmenting.  It's very exciting to see the old skin colour returning. I had forgotten what it looked like!

  • Hi Caroline! This is so good! When You having UVB are you cover the healty area? Thanks,Judit
