have started to develop vitiligo almost a year ago, it has lightened pretty quickly and I have just started treatment for it. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it helps. I essentially would like to join with others who have this disease and aid in the awareness, fundraising to find a cure and insurance coverage on the disease. It makes me angry to know that so many ppl are affected by vitiligo yet those with out it act as if "its no big deal"... I am ready to take a stance!! :)

    Hi Keigan, hope the treatment works for you. We all hope for cure. For me the problem is not the vitiligo but the reaction of people towards it. I think that vitiligo is a natural mutation that is found in animals as well as humans. Humans have always changed trough time and a lot a varieties of humans have appeared so I think that people with vitiligo are simply a variety of the human kind.

    Hey Keigan...I'm a new member & I live in Cinti, OH & my 1st experience w/ finding a cover cream I must admit was better then what I'm hearing from some of the others. In fact it was my junior/senior prom in 1993/94 & she introduced to something I've been doing for the past 15yrs. I blend 2 colors & being a woman of color...finding a make up that matches even w/out the vit was difficult enough. Unfortunately, some of my local stores have stopped carrying Dermablend so I then picked up on Fashion Fair creme soufle & in combo it works for me. Although the setting powder has to be reapplied, I only cover the bottom portion of my face now. Prayer & fasting broke me from the need to cover it all....plus crying is destructive & causes the need to reapply & I love shouting & praising GOD 2 much 2 worry bout what I look like ;-))
