  Hey Gemma, i pushed my doctor to refer me to the hospital i had all the questions ready but as soon as she walked in she shouted at me because my arms were brown  and she knew i had been out in the sun ( how do you avoid the sun!!! )and all she said was nothing cures it and cover yourself in factor 50 everyday before you leave the house. So i do what i have always done grow a beard and wear shirts i am not suggesting you do that although it may look interesting.

  Hi Gemma, I am new to this site it started with me from about 13 years old my granddad and my mum have it but my two brothers and my sister missed out. It runs in the family but why me not the others. I am 47 now so lived with it for 34 years my gp does not really care and my dermatologist told me to stay out of sun really helpfull.

  Hi Gemma. How are you? I am just new to this website, having been diagnosed 2 years ago.I was devastated and felt very isolated until now. My vitiligo covers about 80% of my body and I find it very difficult to cover up especially at this time of year. Whereabouts in Scotland are you? I live in Inverness. Be grat to chat.

  I have had it for years but as I am fair skinned didnt even realise that was what it was til it started spreading and becoming more obvious on my face, hands and arms. I also have other auto immune diseases( hyperthyroidim and coeliac)
  this summer it has become more obvious and has hit me hard .I have been so depressed about it for weeks now and so glad I came across the forum to speak to someone who understands where I am coming from.
