Thanks for the post, that explains how I got my first depigmented spot while completing a highly stressful practicum for my masters degree (never felt such intense stress in my entire existence!). Now if I could only find out how to change the reaction to stress within the body...possibly removing as much oxidative and psychological stress as possible, who knows...
It seems that Vit sufferers have genetically defective contingency melanocyte adhesion mechanism (CCN3=>DDR1=>CollagenIV). So, the main mechanism (integrin) works by itself without backup. That's a likely explanation why physical trauma/stress/friction is so harmful to us, since it destroys our only melanocyte adhesion mechanism.
