Our Granddaughter (our world) Ella who is now 8 years old has had Vitiligo going on 3 1/2 years now approx. She has accepted her disease so well (so far)-a real trooper-perhaps because she got it so young in age...However, concerned like her parents, we worry about how the immune system is handling her vitiligo as through stories we have read-being this is an immune deficiency problem, it scares us to think what problems (health wise) could arise as she ages...It seems through her 3 years a couple of problems have occurred however not sure if its related eg- allergies...her allergies started about 1 1/2 years ago-she was absolutely fine with dogs and cats until then-now very allergic to them...her other problem though can be painful-is not an every day occurence. being an auto immune deficiency problem (vitiligo) we are very concerned for life threatening diseases down the road???? Has anyone got some answers to our concerns???
