You don't know me, but I would like to aske some questions about Vitiligo Herbal Skin Cream and "Boost" and "Five a Day +" pills. Have you try both treatments? I have tried with the cream and I don't know if it is the reason, but some freckles started in my legs. Then the cream finished and I had to order more, but still they haven't arrived. But I haven't tried the pills and Caroline said she repigmented with them. I have doubts about if I would have to start taking them or not. Can you tell me something? Have you any experience with them?
I know what you mean about the Five a Day+. It looks a bit like grass cuttings! You are right about mixing it with juice. Putting it into fruit juice or a smoothie is delicious, although I just have it with filtered water and I have grown to love the healthy taste. As regards Boost every day, yes - it is completely safe to take long-term twice a day as directed. I took it every day for at least a year and a half before dropping down to the occasional maintenance dose.
I've just seen your other comment, Annemarie, about your fear that you will lose your husband. How does he feel about your vitiligo? I am guessing he didn't marry you because you had perfect skin but for a whole host of other reasons.
I feel so bad for you. I know what it's like to feel hopeless but please don't despair. Believe me when I say that you should not take it as fact when doctors tell you there is nothing that can be done about vitiligo.
The reality is that a completely healthy human being does not have vitiligo, so there is no reason why you should have to just accept it as your lot in life. Loss of pigment is a symptom. Something is causing it. Therefore - if you can address the cause - you will be able to reverse the pigment loss. Your pigment is not dead. It is only dormant. Mine has come back after almost 50 years, so I'm sure yours can too.
It takes time and a lot of patience to do the "detective work" required to get to the bottom of it but it definitely can be done. I have written everything I went through with vitiligo and how I repigmented (at least I'm about 98% of the way there now) onto a website www.vitiligoprotocol.co.uk because it's quite a long story. I'm sure that looking through it will give you renewed hope. Once you have been through it, please feel free to ask me anything at all - I am always happy to help anyone with vitiligo in any way I can. Keep your spirits up - there is always more hope than you think when you are at your lowest.
