Hello Tracye, why my legs started to repigment is a great questions because I asked myself the same thing and do not have an answer. I have always been ok with my vit, but last year I started NB UVB treatment and my hands which are 90% covered with vit started turning very red and stayed that way, people all over were staring, pointing etc. I was getting stressed out over that and my vit started showing up in new places fast. So at that time, I decided to seriously not care about my vit anymore or the public’s reaction. I look in the mirror every morning and say “hi beautiful” and I mean that. So a month ago, I noticed the vit on my legs is only 15% which use to be 80% three months ago. I agree with you that stress has a major negative impact on vit. So I choose to live a fearless vitiligo life and not allow my vit to be my priority anymore. Maybe that’s what caused the repigment, but I’m really not sure.
Well, I’m glad your back and I agree with you that being able to cope is all we can do. I have had vit for over 20 years but a year ago it decided to take off and "act up" LOL so I started treatment that worked for a little while - so I’m good and glad I tried it. Do you know why yours started showing up in other places? I think mine was stress because it was one hell of a year in 2010 which included my graduation but still... with all that joy, work was off the chain! And I was more stressed out than ever. Lately; I have noticed that my legs are returning back to their full natural color. I’m so happy! My hands face and feet are not.
Hello Tracye, I like the unique spelling of your name. How have you been? It looks like you haven’t been on the site in a while. Welcome back and thanks for inviting me to be your friend. How long have you had vitiligo? Are you ok and confident with it? I good and bad days, mostly good days now that I have learned to except it and love me no matter what. Hope to hear back from you. Take care
