  Hi Jennifer, welcome! I'm not young anymore, but I did have vitiligo starting at age 5. Hopefully you can reassure your child that even with differences he's still the most special boy in the world. My parents were great with the way they dealt with my vitiligo, encouragement and teaching confidence goes a long way, they didn't treat it like something that needed to be cured. The result I accept my vitiligo, even love it! Goodluck

  Hello!! I've had vitiligo for about 15 years now.. Protopic has been proven very effective on children... My doctor in Los Angeles, Dr. Pearl Grimmes is a big advocate of protopic. She told me she had 100% pigmentation in children under the age of 8, using protopic. Protopic and a combination of narrowband-UVB should do the trick. Protopic did nothing for me, thats why iam on cuban treatment that is very popular internationally. A doctor in Cuba, yeah that's right Cuba, created a medicine that repigments vitiligo in high humbers.
