Vitiligo on Lip, your experience/comments Please !

Reaching out to the group to obtain experiences with vit on lip.

 

How does it start ? does the red lip for kids become more reddish and then loose pigment ?

 

Or, will it go from the natual lip color to white stratight ?

 

For my child, the lip is becoming more reddish or like a grpefruit type thing.

 

In woods light, we saw one area (junction of two half of the upper lip shining bright)

 

Any comments/experience/pictures/opinion, will be a great help.

    my son's vitiligo has spread to his lips, his lips still appear pink so far. I was so worried about them turning white and losing their color but I think that they are colored still simply by the amount of blood flow that is in such high concentration and so close under the skin. The vit on his lips appears deeper in his lip than it does on the skin of his face. Different types of skin.

    After spending countless hours or online resarch, visits to Derm's office, conquered vitiligo on lip subject.

    Yes, when lip looses pigment, it can turn pink. This should NOT be confused with the natual pinkish lips some people have by birth. These 2 are different.

    Plus, under wood's lamp, lips generally can glow.....

    Best way to diagnose is to reach out to Derm.

    I am at peace now....Atleast, I know, how vit works on lips
