HI, I'd be happy to tell you how the protopic worked for our son Dylan. He was not interested in applying it twice a day, or even once a day. We applied it pretty irregularly and it still had very good results on his nack face and eye areas. His knuckles, knees, shins, and elbows remained un effected by the protopic though. He decided to stop using it this summer and we have seen that all of the areas that had repigmented have lost thier color again. I think that it is important to realize that using the protopic is not a long time fix but just a temporary repigment. He is 11 years old and his vitiligo is progressing very quickly too. He is making huge strides toward acceptance of it and he really doesn't want to continue trying to treat it. I am worried that he will feel differently later, but also I am worried that later there will be negative side effects to the medication and to other tratments like the light therapy too. All of the previous treatments were thought to be safe too, until they found that they weren't. He went to camp this summer which helped him with his level of acceptance of having it too. If you ever have any questions feel free to ask us. Right now I guess taht I am going to support his decision not to treat it and just try to make sure that he is wearing plenty of sunscreen! :-)
