  The only medication I have ever used on my vitiligo is Elidel, which is a topical cream. I have used it on my face for about 4 months. I do not detect any difference. I did use the dermablend body cover briefly, but it smears too easily and rubs off on anything you touch...It may be more effective with the use of the setting powder, but I would have to buy setting powder by the pound! Besides, it looks to cakie. The dermablend works on my face, however. I am white with a fairly tanned complexion, and I have found a skin tone that works for me, I try to stay out of the sun and not tan, but that is difficult in Arizona, and I like to golf.

  I have had vitiligo for about 6 or 7 years. I inherited it from my Dad and Grandma. I would like to stop it, but if I can't, you can't let it affect you. Recently it has spread to my face, so I started seeing a Dermitoligist and she prescribed elidel cream. I have applied it to the vitiligo on my face for 4 months, but have seen no improvement. I use dermablend on my face to cover the vitiligo and it hides it very well. Since vitiligo runs in my family, I have pretty much accepted it. My Dad and Grandma lived long and good lives and never let it bother them. They lived in Minnesota, however, and it was easier to avoid the sun. I will look for some options to try to repigment the patch on my face, but I will not go to extraordinary measures.

  It took about 13 years to loose about 50% of my complexion. As far as what kind of work I do, I worked in adult corrections from 1985 to 1995 and lost my job so, I did some of everything until the Lord allowed me to return to school to complete my BA. In1999 I returned to work in juvenile corrections and on March 18th, 2009, I Iost my job again. Prayerfully though, I'm trying to see if it's the Lord's will for me to return to school again with a fellowship and complete a masters. The Lord allowed this to happen two months before my youngest son graduated from high school. Maybe, my son and I can attend college together, time will tell.

  Well I try to get rid of the negative enery, but it's hard for me dealing with this vit crap. I am so depressed, there is a way that color can come back, but it is very expensive. I am a nice looking female, but when peeps start seeing the vit, they take off like a __--Will tell all soon, it's just no-one can really afford it.

  Hi, the latest treatment in SA is a combination of plant extract and laser. aparantley 99% success rate with fair skinned people. Not sure how it will work yet in darker people as i just started it. The other product i've been trialling is melatonin II check it out its a peptide that works on exciting melanoncytes and tanns you overall without any sunlight. The downside for males is its an aphrodisiac and creates painfull ..........:) not sure what downsides in women. It pigmented up a patch on my tummy very quickly but no success on my hands. Will try it again as soon as i get some more from the peptide company in Shanghai.
