First and foremost I have had vitiligo since 12 years old, am now into my 40's. I have been affiliated with the AVRF for over 10 years and currently serve on the Foundation's board of directors. I do this because I believe in the work we're doing and want to help ensure I do as much as possible to make a difference in a cause near and dear to my heart. Hello Roxane, My name is Lena. I have initiated a campaign, "Redefining Beauty" since the definition for beauty is so narrow. I have created a handbag line "INVINCIBLE" that will feature people like yourself who embody strength and courage while facing adversities. I would like for you to check out my two topics that start with "Redefining Beauty" on the forum. I have received adult volunteers and their stories, but I would like to include stories from a young person's perspective. After reading the write up, I really hope that you will be interested in reaching out to some of the young members and their parents of your organization. Maybe they will be interested in joining the campaign. This is not an attempt to exploit or garner sympathy or empathy, but to spread awareness, address bullying, educate and share wonderful stories in their own words.....an additional platform. I have sample handbags already created for burn survivors. The bags are awesome. At the fashion show they were very well received. Please let me know if you have any questions.
