  Steroid cream IS a good option. In my case - I applied steroid cream for small areas of vitiligo on my fingers. And after about 4 - 6 months the small dots were gone. Then I stopped using the cream. About an year or so later - the spots reappeared in the same area where it originally was. I have no doubt that if I apply steroid cream again - the spots will fade away again. So, better to use it. Give it a try. Good luck!!

  I have used Protopic and a steroid cream called Elomet. Protopic works well mostly for face vitiligo. Steroid cream is good for other areas. But keep in mind that there is a possibility of the vitiligo returning after you stop using the creams - sometimes after months, sometimes after a year or two. But still it is definitely worth trying.

  Hi Lori, welcome to Vitiligo Friends.  I used to live on a farm near Springfield, Ohio, which is near Dayton.  I now live in northeast Ohio just south of Cleveland.  You will find a lot of support and friendly people here.
