About Me:

I'm 29, and I've had a somewhat small patch of vitiligo on the left side of my chin for about 7 years. I've dealt with it for years, but recently I decided that I'm going to do my best to repigment the area. I would love to hear any stories about experiences with treatment.

  • Hi Brad, thanks for the friend request.

I've been getting nUVB treatments for the last 2 years and I've used Elidel and Dovonex on that one spot. It hasn't developed anywhere else although I had a eureka moment not too long ago. I've suffered from nasty migraines since I was about 16 or 17 and not too long ago (about 1 month or two) I had a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE migraine. It was so bad that it knocked me unconscious. I just remember taking 2 more Excedrin (after I'd taken 2 only an hour earlier) and that's all I remember. My boyfriend says I passed out. Long story short, the next morning I woke up with a slight discoloration on my neck, but on the same side where I lost the pigment on my chin. I see the dermatologist on Thursday so I plan on telling him about this. I'm not too sure if migraines may have caused my vitiligo or not. It is a bit odd though, since most of my migraines are on the same side that my vitiligo is on. I don't know if it could have been the migraine or maybe the excessive amount of Excedrin I've been taking all these years.

I don't know what to think anymore. All this time I've contributed my vitiligo to my alcohol consumption and stress. Now I don't know what to think.

But I'm glad you joined the site. It's the only place where I can freely share my story and know that the person on the other end truly understands the emotions we go through.
