Hello Sam, I quite agree with you. We really need to collaborate effort because at the end of the day it is still Africa we are talking about, I have to start from somewhere which is West Africa primarily and secondarily the whole of Africa and more. Are you aware that American Vitiligo Research Foundation (AVRF) have a chapter in East Africa - Kenya? Am sure that will collaborate efforts someday.

Ogo, thanks for your comments. Yes, I feel Africans and all darker color skin sufferers are much more affected emotionally by this condition since the contrast is so obvious. I have seen your efforts on the internet to get the word out in Africa, we maybe able to coordinate our efforts in establishing Africa wide effort , I know you are in west Africa and my roots are in the east. We need to some how collaborate our efforts and campaign to erase the stigma associated with this condition in Africa.

how can we make the MED(minimal erythema dose)

Before using the UVB therapy to treat vitiligo, we have to make the MED test and get the MED Value or MPD value in advance. If the skin type is VI type---black, how we can we recognize the slight erythema ?

How do we create effective Vitiligo awareness and enlightenment campaign in Africa?

I believe this is what we have to do ourselves in our own individual locality because the truth remains that Africans has not really embraced internet. I send out emails on some findings on Vitiligo and still get calls asking me questions concerning what I have sent and when I ask if they have read the article, I hear things like Ogo please am not you and that your internet, I have not gone online for months even when I do, I dont know how to go about somethings just print it out for me.
