I believe this is what we have to do ourselves in our own individual locality because the truth remains that Africans has not really embraced internet. I send out emails on some findings on Vitiligo and still get calls asking me questions concerning what I have sent and when I ask if they have read the article, I hear things like Ogo please am not you and that your internet, I have not gone online for months even when I do, I dont know how to go about somethings just print it out for me. This makes it more expensive as one spends more time on phone and visits to educate and counsel especially when you are trying to get them out of locked doors. Ok a number of us do use internet but majority doesnt, so a lot of home work is really required including print and visual media. We are embarking on a Documentary solely in West Africa, but ope to be aired round Africa, I believe this will go a long way. Lets do what we can indiviually.

  • Hi Ogo,

I applaud your effort and wish you continued success with your campaign. Although I reside in the US, I have a lot of West African friends and I have attended numerous social events within their community. Having Vitiligo I believe there is a great need for education among our people. They look at this disease as a punishment from God or spell that someone may have placed upon us and avoid being in out presence. I really feel for anyone in Africa who may have this condition and hope that you much success.
    • Thank you so very much Tonia, am really sorry for getting back to you late.
Thanks once again for the encouragement, really good to hear from someone who understands the way it is in Africa.
Its not been an easy work, but am happy people are getting to know more about Vitiligo with our little effort.
Our Inaugural Launch and Seminar was scheduled for Feb 4th 2010, most likely postponing to March, just pray my speakers will be available for the new date.

Even though I've been applauded for the worthy cause, still funds are hard in coming to get this off the ground, i sense its same syndrome of breakthrough and be successful first and every other person will want to identify with you. I am not happy postponing but there is absolutely nothing I can do........

Please if you have an idea of any organisation that will help pls do inform me....

But are u African or African American?
