My daughter Lyndsay will be starting all day kindergarten in September. Does anyone supply the school nurse with sunscreen to be applied on their child for recess or outside gym? I have to get a note from the doctor to do this, and am wondering if I could put it on in the am or should pursue having the school do it as well. Thank you :)

My daughter goes down to the nurse everyday at lunch to have sunscreen, we also needed a doctors note to get it done. I just had my doctor fax it to the school.
Hi everyone. Thanks for all the comments. I contacted the nurse at the school and I had my daughter's pediatrician fax a note saying she needed sunscreen, so next year the sunscreen I bring in will be given to the teacher to apply before recess and gym. :)
Hi Lyndsay! We apply before school and her teacher has the spray kind in the classroom. My daugher also has two type 1 diabetics in her class, and they therefor ALWAYS have a backpack of testing supplies with them. The teacher puts our sunscreen in the backpack. Paige often remembers better than her teachers. For example, yesterday I sent her to school with a button-up sweater that she can take off if she gets hot. I didn't sunscreen her arms, but told her to do so at school if she takes her sweater off and goes outside. So she, on her own, asked to be sunscreened. I send in the spray stuff b/c it is easier to use at school, but at home I use the lotion. I think the lotion covers better. Anyway, that's what we do!! Good Luck!

Send her to school with her sunblock and write a note to the teacher/nurse about when and why she NEEDS to be able to use sunblock :)
