Hello Everyone,
I am fairly new to Vit. Just recently, my 2.5 year old daughter has been diagnosed to have vit and I would appreciate any info/suggestion from experienced Parents.
Our Pediatric Derm has prescribed Steroid Cream for my daughter. Can you guys please share your experiences or opinions about using Steroid cream for 2.5 year olds?On some forums I read that if you treat vit early, response is better but some forums say using steroid can cause more vit spots??
Any inputs or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ash

Hi, They don't have a website and can't find any reference in the internet either. I think he is the only doctor there. My wife says the place is always crowded and she has to wait for hours . He is a very orthodox person and am not sure he will talk over the phone or so. Where are you from? If you are from kerala got to him.
Rajesh,
Thanks again for responding. I am in the US, not sure what i'll do. But thanks agian. If possible can you ask your wife to send us the address and office hours of this clinic? And also does the doctor speak english or hindi?
I will ask her and let you know.
Thanks Rajesh!
You can call his home directly aftr 6 or 7 pm 00914802853838 , he should speak english.
Thanks for responding. That's wonderful that the spread stopped and she is repigmenting as well. What kind of medicines did he prescribe - oral or topical and were there any side effects ?
Oral as well as topical. There easn't any visible side effects.
The doctors name is Sivadasan (Sri Vinayaka Homeopathic clinic, Edamattam,Trichur) Phone - 04802836060).She was asked to avoid milk and milk products(ice creams etc) and also non-veg, The kind of medicines I dont have a clue.It looks like typical homeopathic medicines and there is also a colourless lotion to apply before exposing to sunlight(Only before). She used to be in the sun for half an hour to 1 hour religiously every day(Early moring) and evenings.
Hi ashish
There r many do's and dont's that we keep hearing and reading
there r many likely remedies that are published / shared
This has led to more confusion than before
There are diet that seems to be working for some
there are different medicine in allopahty, homepathy, unani and ayurved.
The point is while some medicine seems to work for one they may not be true for others
Not only that it seems true that within ones body the same medicine may not work effectively on all the spots
My daughter developed vit on her eye lids , elbows ,knees and ankle.
while others have re pigmented, the one on the ankle and knees haven't.
so it not only supports my opinion that medicines have to be accepted by the body in general and the spots in particular but it may be that with in ones body we may have to use different options. that's why the healing is not noticeable in certain parts of the body, while it heals other parts.
therefore we must try different medicine and diet.
and stick to the one that shows some progress
A long drawn process but trial and error method is all we can hope here to resolve this issue.
so I think if there is even a slight noticeable improvement one must continue without altering any diet or change medicine
Thanks
Raj
