  • Hi
  • There is proof that Vitamin D works. A study was done and the results are here http://www.landesbioscience.com/journals/dermatoendocrinology/artic...

My daughter is taking Vitamin D supplements and eating good food and the vitiligo is almost all gone now.

  • I've been having leg pain and neuropathy (tingling), and went to the doctor.  My blood test also shows very low Vitamin D.  I haven't had my follow-up with the doctor, but web searching seems to show the connections of Vitamin D deficiency with both Vitiligo and bone pain. I'm assuming I'll be put on some aggressive dosage of Vitamin D--Cynthia, how did you Vitamin D levels respond to taking the pills?
    • My Vitamin Level Did Increase Wit Prescription Vit d..I Still Take A Otc Supplement
    •  just read my notes from vitiligo congress in Milano,, many researchers has found out vitis are deficient for viamin D3 and D2.

BTW even if the the usual blood test tell you every thing is ok it doesn`t include vitamin D .

If you want to know your D leavel ,you have to ask exactly for D leavel ask about  Homocysteine & Methylmalonic acid level in your blood serum.

That is how I found out Im deficient to vit D3, I m taking  my vit is stable ,,I see even very small repigmentation ,,I hope it continue.

      • my husband was just diagnosed with vit.  blood tests came back normal -- except also very low levels of vitamin B and D3.  Derm recommends taking supplements along with topical cream treatment and sunlight.

  • my Vitamin D levels are also low from blood test result.

  • now i'm gonna ask my doc about my levels from my last physical...
    • When I took regular blood test, the doctor used to say every thing is normal I think if you want to know the D3 leavel you have to take the Homocystein blood test.
I have been consulted to take varius blood test by Professor K.Schallreuter one of leading vitiligo researcher.
For those of you who are interested , here is the blood test required by professor K.Schallreuter in order to start her treatment

      1. Differential blood count
      2. Liver values (ALAT, ASAT, gamma GT)
      3. Thyroid parameters
      4. Folic Acid
      5. Vitamin B12 and B6
      6. Blood tests for: lipids/cholesterol/triglycerides Homocystein
      • Ok i had the thyroid, b-12,lipids, folic acid, liver, and blood count done...all were normal except the vitamin d
