Well i recently got done planning my first tattoo and i plan on getting it on my arm (I have no vitiligo on my arms) and i was wondering does the ink from the tattoo affect vitiligo in anyway? I want this tattoo but i don't want it to cause it to spread or anything like that. Does anyone know?

If you are like me (meaning you've lost a lot of pigment already, your vitiligo occasionally changes and you get new patches, you've had rapid pigment loss in the past), consider the possibility that getting a tattoo may trigger your vitiligo to spread.
In my case, I don't find it particularly upsetting that my vitiligo is spreading (other than it is sooo itchy!!). However, if you would find it distressing, consider preparing yourself for this possibility before getting the tattoo. Much love.
I got a tattoo on my foot which had already had Vitiligo patches on it. My Vitiligo has since spread drastically on that foot, but I do believe that it has nothing to do with the tattoo as the same thing happened to my left which witch has no tattoos. The only thing that I noticed, was that as my Vitiligo spread in some area's where that tattoo was it had faded the ink slightly (I have hot pink flowers, and now they are more of a baby pink in some area's) The tattoo artist I went to said he would touch it up for free, so I have absolutely no problems with it and I think its a great way to make your Vitiligo look snazzy haha
I have 2 tattoos, the first I got over 4 years ago, they are both on the sides of my torso, where I have no vitiligo. It did not affect me what so ever, thankfully till this day I see no signs of vitiligo showing up anywhere near my tattoos. I hope this is helpful!
Micropigmentation is advised to cover vitligo spots, vit has to be stable.
Make up artist say ,if vitligo is active when applying tatto it can couse outbreak.

Raya ..Thanks for sharing ur photo...I want to ask some questions.
Have you done the tatoo on vit spots too? did it hold?
was your vit stable? for how long?
did you see new vit spots after you did tatoo?
Thanks
i have got two tatoos,,,,not on vit ,,,but on my arms,, as it was my passion while in college, but it dint turn white a bit also,,,,tht i can assure u for sure......
I have 3 tattoos and the ink doesnt effect it. the white spots will have to be recolored after it heals because its a little lighter but other than that its all good(:
I brought an old post because there were many who want to try permanent make up ...how did it go ? this way of covering vitiligo works for many ,for some people unfortunatlly it doesn`t work...if vitiligo is not stable.
