  • Has anyone found the amount of Tyrosine to take?

I see amounts for  L-phenylalanine. Not sure if the amounts are the same. Also some sources say that taking Tyrosine will not affect melanin.

Also, if anyone has the dosages/amount of the usual suspects of supplements (Vitamin B6, B12, B5, Folic acid, Ginkgo Biloba etc.

I also find it strange that most dosages "recommended for  L-phenylalanine is 50 – 100 mg/kg of body weight. Daily doses should, however, not exceed 3,000 mg." So, unless you are 30 kg or less this information doesn't really tell you much?? (apart from not exceeding 3000 mg, which is then the maximum dose for most people).

  • I did nothing else just took tyrosine and vitamin B6 and Folic acid ... My Viti was new , i didnt use Protopic . It worked wonders .

I only red that Tyrosine is responsible for pigmentation and went for it .

I dont know if its safe for kids ...well you already have Viti then what worse could happen ? Take small doses ...open the capsula and take some of the powder like 20% of it and give to kids ... IM no doctor but still ... If you already have Viti then there is nothing worse than that .

    • Does the B6 have any special effect when paired with tyrosine? I take B12 (along with folic acid, vitamin C, & ginkgo biloba). I'm a vegetarian, so I guess B12 is supposed to be helpful. I haven't heard of either B6 or B12 helping more or less in vitiligo. Do you know anything about this? Thanks :)
      • Tyrosine only works at full power with B6 .

        • Oh okay thanks ^.^
  • hello, here is an interesting artical about L-tyrosine and vitiligo. http://www.progressivehealth.com/phenylalanine-vitiligo.htm

     i found it practicaly useful.

  • Could you give me more information about it? Is it safe for kids?
  • Amino acid Tyrosine cured my Vitiligo ... Not 100% but like 90% or so . Enough said .

    • hey man, can you explain more ? were you exposing yourself to the sun or UV treatment .
is there any medical study to prove what you said ?  did you use protopic?  how  that supplement helped you ?

how much pigment your were having  before taking this tyrosine ?

  • Hi Jitendra, this study has been out since July 2013, (see link below)

It does bring hope. I wonder how we could find out how much closer
they are to starting clinical trials?
