I also saw a huge progression in my vitiligo after taking large amounts of vitamin C. One of the theories is that vitamin C boosts the immune system...and when your immune system is killing melanocytes, boosting it allows it to kill melanocytes faster. I have read the same thing about echinacea.
L-tyrosine increases the production of melanin it will not repigment vitiligo patches, however if used with combination with uvb then u will see faster repigmentation is sumit like scenesse.
Vit.C is advised to people with vitiligo if it has bioflavonoids...that is what i have read in a certain site..
my vitiligo spreads so fast the time when i eat sour foods, the citrus family fruits.and when i stopped consuming sour foods,my vitiligo stops spreading, and some small white spots repigments by itself. and started applying virgin coconut oil to my whites, and then i found aloe vera gel is good for vitiligo,i used it too and can see repigmentation, but so slow..
Why would Vitamin C affect vitiligo? Not saying you're wrong...just wondering. I read someone else who stated that people with vitiligo should not take Vitamin C. Why is that?
my guess would be that it wasn't the VitC itself which caused the problem. But if you think of how autoimmune diseases work... the immune system works over time to the point it's attacking healthy cells too. VitC boosts the immune system... ergo...
Jimmy, Does L-Tyrosine come in pill form. I take all the other vitamins but L-Tyrosine and have seen that others on here take that. What is it suppose to help with?
I found a tablet that contains L-Tyrosine (amongst other ingredients) but it made my non-vit skin get browner whilst the vit stayed the same - might not affect everyone the same but be warned
