Good News:- New research which can help Vitiligo

Now a days too much research is going on around the globe, this one is amazing while they were researching a solution for skin cancer they found out that the treatment can activate the dormant Melanocyts .

Many belive that the pigment cells are dead ,but it is not true they are just sleeping that is why some treatments help us to repigment .

I am happy that they remember us and mentioned vitiligo next to cancer watch the picture of pigmented cells.

I think we should send our appreciation to the Biologists at Tufts University  just  to encourage  the research.

  • Yeah, I got that they are dormant from the artice when I first read it. Before reading it I couldn't understand how that skin would repigmant if the melanocytes had been "destroyed". Finding that they are debilitated vs. obliterated was definately welcome news. It made me feel like attempting to repigment could possibly end up working (we are trying Protopic on my son). The video clip that you posted was great. The research going on now is very exciting.
  • Great points Cookie, it sure would be exciting if this did turn out to be something that worked...and was safe!

I was confounded by trying to understand how protopic could possibly re-pigment the skin if the immune system had destroyed the melanocytes. I am glad that I read this, thanks for posting it!
    • Hi Jodie , New researches show that Melanocytes are not dead ,they are just dormant.
Watch this video clip from Cluvel, very interesting..it show what is going on under skin, I hope the trial succeed.

  • Ya you are right normally it takes many years , but now there are a Pharmacy companies like Cluvel who want to invest on vitiligo cure or reliable treatments . It will make it easier, ofcourse normally a medical trial and approvements takes from 3 -6 even more years .
I was fascinated at the vitiligo congress ,some technologies while it is in the labratory reaserch in some countries , some other Eropian countries has developed recognized treatment kits. The commercial world It goes faster than before.

There are so many treatments and researches going on in Europe than US.

Let us hope it works and goes faster.

      hahahahahah
  • Thanks for the information, I read the article and submitted feedback. Hopefully, this will give them the motivation to continue their research.
  • sounds interesting. but dont get your hopes raised. usually when they first discover something, they're like 10-20yrs away from any usable application. but something to keep an eye on for the younger crowd to hopefully take advantage of. ;-)
