Hands are very difficult to repigment because they have very few hair follicles - the reservoir for melanin (skin and hair pigment). Try focusing your repigmentation treatments on areas of the hand that have more hair follicles. Or try focusing your repigmentation treatment near a pigmented area such as the arm just above the hand (assuming that area does not have vitiligo). The new pigment may eventually migrate. Be patient. All treatments take time.

I've noticed that the only places on my hand that have any signs of repigmenting are my hair follicles. The underside of my arm is also very hard to repigment because of the lack of hair follicles. I think it's strange that the area around my eyes has repigmented so quickly because while there are tiny hairs there, they are very light. So I wonder how that area has received melanin. Vitiligo is so mysterious to me!
Vitiligo is mysterious. Hey, what did you use around your eyes?

I started with Wanakee's Herbal Skin Cream, it did produce one spot, about the size of a dime, and then I started to use Protopic. It's been working well around my eyes but causing a lot of acne on my chin. My arms and hands are stubborn though.
I had undergone 1 1/2 years worth of determined UVB/NB treatment with a home unit designed to treat hands and feet along with consistent protopic application. My hands did repigment albeit relatively insignificant (~ 10% perhaps). What it did do significantly however, was halting vits progress as at the time my hands were losing pigment quickly and it just stopped. And it's been a couple of years since I discontinued that regiment and I have not noticed any more pigment loss on my hands.
