About Me:
I'm 52 and have had vitiligo for over just one year now.I was suprised at how much impact it has on people when I looked it up on the internet.I'm just starting to learn all about it and what can be done to repigment the skin. The out doors is what I love most and that will not change, just more sunscreen and cloths thats all. It has spead quite fast and I am just starting to let friends and family know what going on. I would like to hear from real people who have this condition and learn from them and thier experience. Cheers Kevin

Hey Kevin !!! Hope you are doing good !!!
With regard to Protopic - this works great for vitiligo on the face. But it can work on other areas too. I use it for spots on my face, and got some good results. I have not tried narrow band uvb, BUT I have heard it worked for some on our group. My doctor did tell me to sunbathe every morning till about 0800. If you are an early riser (!!!) you can do this too. In addition, I take vitamin B12 1000 mcg a day + Folic Acid 800 mcg a day. Also, I apply a steroid cream for small spots on my fingers. Sometimes I apply the steroid cream in combination with Protopic. Steroid cream is good mostly for small spots.
The treatment you may take depends on the size of the spots you have, and where you have it. AND how much these spots worry you. For example, though I have vitiligo in many parts of my body, the "focus area" is my face and fingers. You said you apply Protopic too? Can I ask where you apply it to?
Take care,
Nadika
