I developed vitiligo later in life, at the age of 42. I've had it for almost a year now, and I struggle daily to deal with this new reality. I'm married an d have three beautiful kids who couldn't care less that I have this disease. I think I have segmental vitiligo, as I have it mainly on one side of my body. I'm doing Protopic and excimer laser with some positive results, but I'm starting to consider transplant of some sort. I wish that the US was further advanced in melanocyte transplanting (like India and Europe). So far it seems that most derms here in the US are only able to do punch grafting or larger types of grafting.
