I was diagnosed in my 40's after experiencing the emotional trauma and related stress of losing my best friend to breast cancer. I have no other friends that have vitiligo and one family member that does.

    Hi Tami, I am glad you found us.  Out of my 5 siblings and my parents, I was the only one to develop vitiligo at 9 years of age.  Mine started with a trauma (open wound) to my right knee.  I am sorry you lost you best friend to cancer.  I extend my friendship to you here at Vitiligo Friends.  I live in northeast Ohio and perhaps one day we can meet.  Talk to you later.
