ditto from above. Also vitiligo may run in my family. My mother's skin started turning white in her mid 60's. Luckily for her it only took a couple of years for her to become universal. Sadly she also has alopecia, which I believe can be related. Ironically my partner's son also has vitiligo. I don't have 'many photographs of myself and none that I am aware of when I was 'patchy'.
