I have had vitiligo for sixteen years. Started out as small dots around my lip and chin area. Has spread into much bigger areas on face and complete forehead. Most of my body has spots, except my legs and Arms, but I'm seeing some starting on hands, feet and inner crease of my arms. It makes me very upset at times. I wear a very good makeup called Colortration. If anyone needs that's info I will be happy to provide it. It works the best that I have tried. I'm looking into the narrowband UVB...can any one give me hope. Went to dermatologist in NYC and she highly suggests I try it along with some topical medicine.

For the majority of people - Protopic works best only on face. If spots on your hands and feet are small - then better to try a steroid based ointment. For example - Elomet.
Vitiligo on my face was very little near the nostrils, ears and lips. I used Protopic - and after about 3 - 4 months I saw some improvement. I tried it about 8 years after vit appeared on my face. In my opinion - you do not have to apply steroid cream on your face. Protopic alone is enough.
Hi !!!!! Protopic works best for vitiligo on the face. I have used it too. Do not know the other cream you mention. Is it a steroid cream?
