  I haven't heard of any association with the cream. There are people with vitiligo that experience early graying and spots on the scalp, which in turn causes the hair to change color.

  I started using the pigment cream on my daughter, last week i was brushing her hair and found some gray hairs that were not there before...i dont think...anyone know if theres an association with that and the cream?

  Please also seek professional treatment to cope with the psychological and emotional state of vitiliogo as it progresses. I'm 35 and have had vitiliogo for 5 years and I can tell you that it is very hard to cope with this condition.

  Look into the Black Labeling of prescription products. This is the method they use to identify products with a high risk factor of causing cancer.
  
  It is my understanding that protopic is widely used but recently, it has been linked to cancer because it thins out the upper layer of the skin. Please ask your doctor to further explain.

  Hi Maresa! My 8 year old Cel has vitiligo as well, we are so glad for this support site. Welcome, I see you live in Austin, we live in Universal City. We only used protopic for Cel's severe eczema which that is how it started on her leg, as a rough itchy red patch and then we noticed the white spots. Using protopic we saw no side effects and also she's used topical steroids and have not see any side effects either, I worried about the steroid prolonged use but the dermotolgist talked to me about them and I feel comfortable to keep using them.
