My name is Leslie, I'm 30 years old and I have had vitiligo for the past 15 years. I am married to a great man, who had been my rock everyday. I have two beautiful children. I am an Executive Assistant and enjoy my job very much. I work for a non-profit organization that raises money to help support health care in our province. I'm am also a part-time student studing records management. I love to cook and bake in my spare time. I also injoy walking my dog and playing with my children. I am happy with my life;however, dealing with vitiligo has made me more depressed in the past number of years just knowing that it is progressing. If it was to stay as it is I think I could deal with it a little better. I have spent years trying to figure out a treatment that will work for my Vitiligo, with no luck. I have tried light treatments, creams and have gone to seen a holistic thearipist. I have changed my diet to help with the progression of my vitiligo but unfortuanly I have not noticed much of a change. The only real treatment that worked for me was the light treatment, with mininum repigmentation. Just recently I tried PUVA light treatment which worked with returning some pigment in some areas but loss in other. With little hope left for ever repigmenting I am looking for support in living with it. Its been 15 years for me since seeing my first spot and there is not a moment that goes by that I dont think about my condition.
