  Hey Danielle !!!! Protopic is safe to use, as it has no steroids. It works well, especially for those with vitiligo on the face. I am not sure if one month is enough to see a result. As far as I know, it takes minimum 3 months. Like I said, my vitiligo started around 3. It was on my right leg ankle. It spread up the leg slowly for a few years, and then stopped. For about 10 years my vitiligo was stable. When I was around 20, it started again, on waist, hips, thigh, elbows and about 4 years ago on my fingers, and a little on my face too. I used Protopic for face, and most of it is now gone. Lately, I am trying Ayurveda medicine. It is still too early to say how effective it is. I can not think of any other health issues we could get as a result of vitiligo. I have none so far! Take care! Good luck to your daughter.

  Hey !!! 3 years is an awfully young age to develop vitiligo. Mine started about the same age too. What did your daughter's doctor say?
