  • Hi, Aamir -

Although I decided to completely depigiment, I do know some vitliigo colleagues here in the Detroit area who regained pigment in the facial areas.  I hope your son has had a positive response to the treatment.

    Wishing you the best,

    Jackie

PS:  I do know  that I developed celiac disease and vitiligo at the same time.

  • Protopic works very well on new spots. Especially on the face. I've used Topicort and that has worked on the stubborn parts. My friend's son was prescribed clobetesol and they have had good results.
    • Clobetasol is stronger than Protopic.   Also , correct me if im wrong, Protopic is not a steroid.   its an immuno suppressant.    Clobetasol which is a steroid has more side effects than protopic.

  • My son has it on his leg on his knee, above and below his knee and on the back side of his leg.
    • Protopic has worked well with many people I know. How many times do you apply it in a day. I put in on once a day for my son when hees going to school.
  • Which areas have been affected? My son has it on his feet and knees. The feet are really stubborn.
    • Aamir!   My doctor tells me feet and hands are the hardest to re-pigment.  I have been using protopic on feet and hands; and both show the least improvement.

  • My son is 8 years old and has had vitiligo since he was 3.  We have been using Protopic for two years and keep hoping but no success here.  I have heared it has helped others.

  • @Aamir do you have vit or your son does? gen. Results are good for protopic on face and body. did you try other things like homeopathy, diet, etc along with protopic?
    • We both do. Didnt try homepathy. Protopic did well but for a while we didnt use it and the patches grew on his feet. Now we put it on regularly. Hoping he gets pigmentation back. He is not really gluten free.
