Hmm. That's a good question. I will have to ask my Doctor to check this out. Thanks for that question because I never really thought about it I in fact have other disorders, I just mainly concentrated on this one.
I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis in 1988. It affected my lungs. The symptoms went away after a year. Since then It has not reoccurred nor have I had any symptoms.. I get tested every year. My doctor feels the vit is a result of the sarcoidosis. One thing I noticed, since 1988 I have not had a cold or flu. I wonder if my immune system is in over drive.
I have Graves disease which is a hyperthyroid disease. After researching the web and finding out for myself that I even had Vitiligo, I also found that it is HIGHLY connected to my Graves condition. I also believe that it can be hereditary because my great-grandmother had it on her hands, I have a aunt that has one spot that has just grown a bit in size and now there is a possibility that my younger brother may have it. I pray that he doesn't.
I am about to begin the process of extensive testing to pinpoint any other auto-immune disorders. I have been having some tummy issues that I am thinking may be the beginnings of another fun auto-immune disorder and my thyroid levels have always hovered right at the low-normal level so it is time to check that out again!!!!
None thaI know of. I probably should get tested because my condition is such a mystery to me and my family. My oldest sister has it and we are the only ones out of our siblings and cousins that have vitiligo. I plan on checking that out soon.

Check into other auto-immune disorders in your family. That is what a lot of people dont realize. No one else in my family has vitiligo but my mother has psoriasis and my uncle died of non-hodgkins lymphoma. Those are both auto-immune disorders. Lupus, diabetes, hashimoto's hypothyroiditis, Crohn's......the list goes on and on!!!!
