just me

I think my vit looks alot diff than others. The reason why i say that is because it seems when i get a white spot it concentrates on that spot and just gets bigger. Does anyone else do this? Plus I have had it for 24 years. You would think i should have more. Wish it was over. Its just really started growing rapidly these past couple of years.

  • Mine does the same.  I'm 35 years-old and have had vitiligo since i was 3.  When I was in school it was mostly on my knees and elbows (I played basketball too).

After I gave birth to my two year-old it really started getting aggressive (it is on 40% of my face nowand basically everywhere).  I am your complexion so it really shows.

I am a health inspector so I deal with the public everyday.  Every day I have to deal with people offering cures or some type of suggestions on how to treat or cure it.  I am tired of trying different things that do not work (once I tried an herbal "CURE" and was taking 16 pills a day and applying a "SPECIAL" oil, needless to say IT DIDNT WORK lol).  And people dont understand why I dont wanna try their remedy.

I wish it would go away or go speed up so I can be one color lol.  My hands are mostly white and I got sunburned really bad.  So, now I have to wear sunscreen 24/7 to minimized the chance of getting cancer.

Sorry, I think I needed to vent.  I found this site today and I think I like it ;)  because When I try to talk to other people they all say, "oh, girl thats nothing" but, here I can talk about it with people who ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND!!!!!

  • Hi Denise,

I agree with Julie. Your vit doesn't look a lot different. Take a look at my pics. The progression of depigment pattern on your face looks a lot like mine and many others. My white spots do the same as yours. I get one spot and it grows. If there are any other spots in the same area they merge. I have had vit a long time too (I think about 21 years).

I want it to be over as well. I look forward to the day I don't feel that I have to wear make up. Like you my vit is escalating.

I hope you are living your best life and not focusing on the vit.

    Peace and Blessings,

    Pat

  • Hey Denise,

I don't think your vitiligo looks any different than any other person. I think that we are giftedly unique. I've never seen anyone's vit look the same as another person. Mine has been progressing like yours. I had a small spot or almost mini polka dots at one time, that have just grown into large patches. You are so brave to me. You wear your hair natural which is simply WONDERFUL, I'm afraid to even cut mine any shorter because I have white ears like a bunny. LOL, Now that's not so important.

Focus on how you shine! You do. I see God's glow on your face in your photo. I see how the area around my eyebrow will probably look very soon because it is getting larger. You are an example.-Julie
