Who here has a woods lamp?

At first I didn't want to have a woods lamp. I figured I would attack the spots I can see without needing a special lamp. Plus, I think I would be panicked if I saw all the spots. However, the more I think about it, the more I think it would be a good idea to attack all spots, not just the visible ones (it would be more of a defensive / preventive therapy). So my question is which one did you purchase and from where? Are there any cautions I should know about using this lamp? Thanks a bunch

  • Well...I am very fair skinned and in the winter...I don,t clearly see the vitiligo spots.  So I guess I want a woods lamp so I can see where I am supposed to be putting the cream.  I got tanned a lot while in Mexico and it is at that point that I realised that I had vitiligo.  I guess I want to fix my skin for next summer (or at least try to fix it).

I recall someone on this forum having bought a lamp for his daughter.  I wonder where he got it from.

  • I don't have one for my daughter but when we were at the dr's office and they shined it on her we saw spots that aren't visible to the naked eye...is that predicative of spots to come?  I was a bit confused at that...should I be treating that area as well even though it's not visible?
    • I hate wood lamp, why do you need it ? first find a treatment that help you and use wood lamp to see spots that are`t visible in order to treat it.

If you trace the unvisible spots with out having proper treatment ..you are just creating problem for ur self. Some unviseble spots disappir by them selves .

Be happy..try to forget the worries about vitiligo and just do what you can do ..one treatment at a time.
