I have tried so many cover ups to hide my vitiligo on my arms and legs but none of them seem to give me the results I am looking for. The color either comes out too dark or reddish. Why can't there be a cover up that could actually matches one skin tone. Bad enough theres is no proper cure, but in the meantime a right cover up would be nice. I will be going on vacation to a hot country and already I am worried about what clothing I would take. If I don't find a proper cover up in order that I can wear short sleeves and atleast capri pants without my vitiligo being very noticeable then I would have to suffer and wear long pants and long sleeves shirts in hot humid weather. I guess I would be the laughing stock everywhere - It's so depressing wathcing others wear whatever and I have to cover up like a nun - Not fair at all for people with vitiligo and there is no way I would dress normal and show my vitiligo to the public. Any advise would be helpful. Love you all and God Bless!!!!

Hello just wanted to share with you what I have been using and what workes for me you. I wear makeup and its Dermablend and I have to mix two colors together to get the results I want. It takes a little trial and error to get it right. I also apply the dermablend power to set. If you have any additional question feel free to contact me. Hope this helps you all.
Hi there, I know how hard it is to get make-up that works, it is all trial and error!!! For me i use Derma Color mixed with two different Cover FX colors. The trick for me is before i put it on i use a mat brown eyeliner (use to use gray or green whatever worked) to cover the spot and then put the mixed make-up on, and of course a powder to set ( I use just plain baby powder). it took me a while (years) to figure out what worked for me, and it still does...
there are some good ideas on this post, you end up quite the cosmetologist lol! Good luck!!
I too have the same issues you all have. My "spots" on my face are the ones I cover, the patch on my shin -- I just leave it be. I use a number of different products, from the Mary Kay concealer, to brown eye liner, to Opal and Iman makeup. I'm caramel colored and the spots are very obvious. I won't go out without makeup, unless I'm doing yard work and I'll wipe it off anyway. My daughter calls me vain, and she's probably right..I'm always asking if my spots are too orange..a huge issue since a lot of makeup has red undertones and I have yellow. I got vit when I was in my 30s so was just not used to wearing makeup at all.
I'll tell you though, I take an evening every month or so to mix up a new portion of makeup and have so many powders and things I'm mixing that it's a relaxing evening, and I have numerous pots of different trials..I dip from this one and that one until I'm happy with the result. And sometimes, I just throw my hands up, say to myself shame on all those people who choose to stare, and keep stepping. and God loves us no matter what color we are..
No preoperative you with a good sunscreen can walk and go where you do not really want to tell you from my heart do not give up, and especially not afraid. I use sunscreen 100 is the maximum protection here in my country Venezuela.

Hi there, How are you. Just new to this site and finding it great to chat with other suffers. I know what you mean about having to cover up. I don't like it at all. Even just to wear shorts and short sleeve tops would be nice, but my arms and legs are awful.
I keep trying different tanning products without much success. It is sooooo frustraing. If you haven't got vitiligo you can't really empathise ,so it is lovely to speak with people who know where we are coming from. Be nice to chat x
A little late to the game, but MAC is my Holy Grail of cosmetic lines. They divide their foundations into two categories- warm toned and cool toned- and within each category go from sheet of paper white to dark chocolate. Different formulas for both face and body, plus you can recycle your empty containers to get other cosmetics.
To any guys that might be shy about trying this line out, their motto is, "All Races, All Ages, All Sexes."
The prices are reasonable (at least in terms of other things I buy at cosmetic counters) my favorite foundation costs $28 and lasts me about 3 months+.
Sorry for the late responce like you princess. I've tried so many different make up lines. I'm very picky when it comes to make up. I used to never wear make up before i was dignoised. So I don't like a lot of make-up or the caked on look. I now use cover fx and I love it. You might want to check it out it is on thr expensive side but I think it's worth it.
I had the same problem with make up looking red especially in certain light it was not natural and this was very heartbreaking for me. But, I have recently switched to Mary Kays concealer and it matches perfectly with my skin looks natural in all types of light and it only cost $10 a tube. You may want to try that. I know it is supposed to hide dark spots and blend but it covers the patches on my face well. Check out my pics as I have it on in all of them.
