Hello Friends
So i start using protopic -only on my face- like three years ago and the doctor prescribed it to me after a bad long term Cortisone cream experience, i use small portions and apply it only three times a week.
so far i have controlled vitiligo (which is what protopic meant to be because it suppress my immune system )
But i decided to stop using it , because first of all protopic is not meant for long term usage ( refer to their website) , and second of all i was only using it on my face and my body has white color spreading race :) and finally its a hazardous cream .
now my question is what to do next ? i am kind of doubtful and blurry about vitiligo on my face as i dont want it to go active again, yes its around my nick and sometime i got spot on my cheek that will go away after applying protopic. but now what ?
anyone have a similar issue can guide me here about how to not get vitiligo active on the face
should i see my doctor , its been three years since i did go to dermatologist .

@adnan halim....did you try gluten free diet or paleo diet?
Its worth a shot...since there are no side effects. Yes its annoying and frustrating and restricting but if stops the progression or helps with regimentation its worth a shot.
mani....I think there are risks involved with any time of medicine or treatment whether it may heart disease, rhemeotoid arthritis, high blood pressure, psosaris. thankfully vitiligo is not physically painful and considered a cosmetic condition by some. when you are in pain , most people not consider the risks of treatment. they just do it. i've met some people who use the creams and they work to repigment and they are very happy to do what their doctor instructed and they move on with life. in that aspect maybe ignorance is BLISS. We face risks all the time. I have a cousin you had a bad motor vehicle accident and spent months having multiple surgeries to fix broken jaw, and hips. sometimes you just have to do what you have to.
I don't wish vitiligo or any disease/disorder on anybody but sometimes taking treatment medicine is the best option. there are those who embrace it and seek no treatment. Kudos to them too. I guess sometimes you have to do what you have to and be happy. Only god knows what will happen to us in the future.
For those who are successful in reversing their vitiligo thru nutritional means ...may all glory be un to them as well. Please share your efforts and what you are doing to inspire us. Kevin i will read thru your page.
Real food/unprocessed food/living foods/nutrient dense food is what we need. Ill put some of tge best examples i can think of on here
-Vegetable soup made from bone broth maybe add some chicken in tge mix too. bone soup/broth is one of the most healing and soothing foods to the digestive tract in tge world possibly the best. So think about that.
-lots of organic green veggies juices are great.
-Limit your fruit because its still explosive fructose(sugar)
-Use fermented veggies as they contain probiotics naturally
-Make sure your getting enough essential fatty acids (omega 3's and 6's)
-Use apple cider vinegar after all meals to help promote stomach acid (critical).
-Take digestive enzymes. Exapmple, protease enzymes for protein digestion. Lipase for fats ect.
-Build up your glutathione (master antioxidant/ cancer fighter) antioxidants are very important as they give cells there chunk of electricity that was ripped off by free radicals.
Get your minerals, vitamins, water soluble and fat. Fat soluble vitamins are a, d, e, and k.
-Eliminate most dairy (real butter is good and there might be a couple others igotta look more into this. No grains!!!! Very important! Careful with starches. No processed foods! No bread, pasta ect. If its not natural, we dont want it.
-I'd recommend sublingual b12 (with thr rest of b complex of course)
If you want a lot more info on this (reversing disease), listen to the bright side i keep talkin about. It separates fact from fiction. No more controversial bs for a change (: pretty stoked about that.
Our bodies know how to heal them selves as long as they are fed properly. This is the bottom line and the truth
im sure you are right but it all seems so difficult...I mean can you get all this stuff like glutane and the lipase in one capsule and what r fermented veggies...please be a little more clear or put it more simple for simple folks like me...
