What we should do after Stop using protopic

Hello Friends

So i start using protopic -only on my face- like three years ago and the doctor prescribed it to me after a bad long term Cortisone cream experience, i use  small portions and apply it only three times a week.
so far i have controlled vitiligo  (which is what protopic meant to be because it suppress  my immune system )

But i decided to stop using it ,  because first of all protopic is not meant for long term usage ( refer to their website) , and second of all i was only using it on my face and my body has white color spreading race :)  and finally its a hazardous cream .

now my question is what to do next ?  i am kind of doubtful and blurry about vitiligo on my face as i dont want it to go active again, yes its around my nick and sometime i got spot on my cheek that will go away after applying protopic. but now what ?

anyone have a similar issue can guide me here about how to not get vitiligo active on the face

should i see my doctor , its been three years since i did go to dermatologist .

    • @adnan halim....did you try gluten free diet or paleo diet?

Its worth a shot...since there are no side effects.  Yes its annoying and frustrating and restricting but if stops the progression or helps with regimentation its worth a shot.

  • I posted some links that you guys might like. You might have to look on my page for them if to many people post statuses
    • mani....I think there are risks involved with any time of medicine or treatment whether it may heart disease, rhemeotoid arthritis, high blood pressure, psosaris.  thankfully vitiligo is not physically painful and considered a cosmetic condition by some.  when you are in pain , most people not consider the risks of treatment.  they just do it.  i've met some people who use the creams and they work to repigment and they are very happy to do what their doctor instructed and they move on with life.  in that aspect maybe ignorance is BLISS.  We face risks all the time.  I have a cousin you had a bad motor vehicle accident and spent months having multiple surgeries to fix broken jaw, and hips.  sometimes you just have to do what you have to.

I don't wish vitiligo or any disease/disorder on anybody but sometimes taking treatment medicine is the best option.  there are those who embrace it and seek no treatment.  Kudos to them too.  I guess sometimes you have to do what you have to and be happy.  Only god knows what will happen to us in the future.

For those who are successful in reversing their vitiligo thru nutritional means ...may all glory be un to them as well.  Please share your efforts and what you are doing to inspire us.  Kevin i will read thru your page.

  • What needs to be done is a change in what we consume. We need to eliminate a lot of things from our diets. We have vitiligo because we are in poor states of health. Some of us were at birth and before birth and this is just tge simple truth. We need to consume what the digestive system loves. And make sure we are getting the 90 essential nutrients we need to thrive. We need to go back in time a little bit and consume real unprocessed nutritious food. Our digestive tract is lined with about 100,000,000,000,000 ( one hundred trillion) bacteria (probiotics ect) when we eat the wrong stuff and for too ling, its gonna mess up your digestive function and you will have dysbiosis (Imbalance in good gut flora and bad). Then we'll get intestinal permeability (leaky gut) this is not good because it can then lead to any kind of degenerative disease.. When we eat bulky processed foods that is not beneficial to oyr body, it has to use its precious enzymes and bacteria to deal with that problem. The less you have to eat, tge longer you live. (As long as you're getting your 90) because your digestive stress/workload level wont have to be super busy dealing with bad crap and it can focus on regeneration! Oh yea digestion is also around 80% of the immune system so if that gets messed up, your blood sugar system will too and theeen last but not least, your adrenal/thyroid systems will be pumping out the wrong hormones.. TRIANGLE OF DISEASE..

Real food/unprocessed food/living foods/nutrient dense food is what we need. Ill put some of tge best examples i can think of on here
-Vegetable soup made from bone broth maybe add some chicken in tge mix too. bone soup/broth is one of the most healing and soothing foods to the digestive tract in tge world possibly the best. So think about that.
-lots of organic green veggies juices are great.
-Limit your fruit because its still explosive fructose(sugar)
-Use fermented veggies as they contain probiotics naturally
-Make sure your getting enough essential fatty acids (omega 3's and 6's)
-Use apple cider vinegar after all meals to help promote stomach acid (critical).
-Take digestive enzymes. Exapmple, protease enzymes for protein digestion. Lipase for fats ect.
-Build up your glutathione (master antioxidant/ cancer fighter) antioxidants are very important as they give cells there chunk of electricity that was ripped off by free radicals.
Get your minerals, vitamins, water soluble and fat. Fat soluble vitamins are a, d, e, and k.
-Eliminate most dairy (real butter is good and there might be a couple others igotta look more into this. No grains!!!! Very important! Careful with starches. No processed foods! No bread, pasta ect. If its not natural, we dont want it.
-I'd recommend sublingual b12 (with thr rest of b complex of course)

If you want a lot more info on this (reversing disease), listen to the bright side i keep talkin about. It separates fact from fiction. No more controversial bs for a change (: pretty stoked about that.

Our bodies know how to heal them selves as long as they are fed properly. This is the bottom line and the truth
    • I appreciate what you are doing Kevin, half the problem with vitiligo is getting to the underlying cause, nobody knows why it happens. I do already eat very healthily, I have a very low amount of processed foods, I exercise regularly and have a healthy weight but my vitiligo is no better for it. I hate using protopic and I hate UVB treatment, I am scared of skin cancer risks so any natural cure would be welcome, but I have only seen success through medication. Good luck with your program and feedback your success's.
      • I cant really eat how i want to just yet because im working on getting my license back and the place where i like to shop is 20 miles away so i still eat some not so good stuff. It sucks but i do supplement with some things and my vit has been pretty much stable for the last few years. I strongly believe removing grains and focusing in healing the gut is half the battle. I know of three girls who've reversed there vitiligo tho and all three of them did this via diet and supplementing. I will add more to this later and links so everyone can see some of these stories and strategies.
    • So this will heal all of us? We were all born bad? My health is excellent, I don't have any severe food allergies. I don't have the money or the time to live such an obsessed life worrying about what I should be eating. We will most likely live as long as any other person, as long as we stay healthy and active. I have spent so many years suppressing my life because of appearance, what a waste that has been. Eat healthily and live well, enjoy the time you have because it won't last forever.
      • Its your choice man.. not all of us were born ill but i was and willing to bet im not the only one. I was just explaining what is good for us. Its a simple concept of you are what you eat.. if we eat crappy processed stuff and not tge correct nutrition, we'll get sick in return. Our bodies arent meant to thrive on all the crap that composes the new standard. I dont have severe food allergies either but thats irrelevant. I appear to be in great physical shape too always have been good at sportsalways been strong ect. Obviously though, im not as healthy as i once thought. You think i like this? No, im just trying to help people understand that the body has tge ability to heal itself with the right stuff. Vitiligo shows up like any other disease. Because things on tge inside are not working properly.
        • im sure you are right but it all seems so difficult...I mean can you get all this stuff like glutane and the lipase in one capsule and what r fermented veggies...please be a little more clear or put it more simple for simple folks like me...
