Does anyone noticed a pattern in the intensity of Vitiligo in case if it runs in the family?

Vitiligo is considered a autoimmune disorder and it does run in families but it also skips generations too, now you might not know anybody in your family currently with Vitiligo but I'm sure your Great Grandparents or your Great,Great Grandparents know of somebody who did even if it's not as popular as it is now because I had a relative who had it back in the late 1800's and I was shocked and amazed when I found that out, some people even have slaves in their families who used to have it a longtime ago, It will skip generations so if you don't have it your children or childrens children will get it
Yes I thought no one had had it in our family, but I found out my niece now has developed some spots. She's young like how It started with me so I'm glad. I think it will be easier for her to deal with it younger than older. I wonder who could potentially be a carrier male or female? It would have passed down through my Aunt in this case. Anyone else noticed any patterns.
I have no one with vitiligo on either sides my mothers side there is no one with vitiligo and my fathers side there isn,t . Sometimes i ask my self why me? I have 2 kids and they do not have it and i pray to God that they do not get it.
And for my friend Sarah that can't stop u from having kids.

Yaap! My grandma, on my mother's side had vits, my aunt has them, but in our family i'm the only one who have vitiligo, but lately i hav heard my sis saying she noticing some spots .... Genetic can not be ruled out....
There are a lot of members in both my immediate and extended family that have auto-immune illnesses but I'm the only one in my family who has Vitiligo .
We ha ve no known history of this skin condition in our families. Obviously, we are the first generation. My research online indicates that, family history is not a pre-requisite. Only some 35% plus cases have family history. Apparently, just about anyone can get this condition. I read somewhere that, skin is the biggest organ in human body. Hence, its in constant touch with multiple agents both external to the body and internal to the body. Very interesting....
