Marc. I just posted on another conversation ... Sun is great for vit... Sure u see more spots. The sun tans pigmented. Not depigmented skin. I am not a doctor just a dad with a 14 yr old with bit who learned a hell of a lot about correction from the inside out. Vitiligo is absolutely reversible !!!! Email or call me if u want rockmard @ aol. Com
Now, I have been used the UVB lite band for almost two month.
By the end of the last week, I visited my skin doc. and she was very surprised that some something seems to help.
She allegedly found a change for the better. But frankly spoken I believe that changes comes from less suntanning, which comes along with paler skin what makes the difference to the white spots quite smaller.
I'm still very sceptical to speak from a success. Whenever the UVB is applied the white dots turn in red and the skin looks more colorful, which let hide the white spots.
Apart from this, UVB can increase skin cancer and therefore it has to be applied very carefully.
The insurance didn't pay my device as they said there isn't any sustainable curation for vitiligo.
My derm said my insurance co will pay for me to come in for the treatments but not for the machine because I am not "homebound." Now I am trying to convince them to buy me the hand-held machine because it is a 50 mile drive roundtrip into town to get the treatments and a big expense of gas and time, not to speak of carbon emissions into the air! They are considering it. I think it might be possible to convince them to buy us the unit rather than the expensive trips for the treatment, and that costs them money too!
I took UVB Narrow Band for about 4 month. Within 60 treatments, I've had remarkable success. Unfortunately, my insurance declined to pay for more treatments. Though it's bad for me, I can see why they don't want to pay. I did the light treatments at New York University Medical Center and they cost $150 per a treatment, three times a week.
Now that my insurance won't budge, I am saving up to purchase my own unit.
I did some research and there are three companies that are worth mentioning. I'll just leave the web address to prevent myself from going into details.

We are looking into buying the panel type uv light system for our daughter. We have talked with a couple of folks and both have had success with this system. I am going to do more investigating prior to any purchase. Will keep you posted on what we decide to do and then give you updates as to if it is working.

Hi Michael, I currently started to apply the UVB light system on a hand terminal two month ago.
I do it 3 times / week with a time span of 55 sec.for each treatment. For the time being the white spots are only turn in red.
I bought the device in germany for 230 €. Anyway, I will keep trying for one further month and if no success comes, I will abort it.

The company is from I beleive in Ohio... You need a " prescription" for this UVB light... the good new s is that the company said to me that it is mostly covered by insurance... We are going this week to the Dermatologist... I will absolutely post up what product...from where .. how much... and anything else I can find.
