My current dermatologist, who I sought a second opinion from, was inconclusive about my diagnosis, but concluded that it's "most likely" vitiligo. He basically said he can't issue a positive diagnosis until #1) it worsens or #2) I have a biopsy, which we all want to try to avoid since the vitiligo is manifesting on my face/bald head.
More context: the beginning of my vitiligo (I think) were three small, red itchy dime-sized spots on my forehead, which emerged when I was in the sun (not a sunburn, mind you). With a topical steroid, the spots stopped itching, but what resulted were these small (smaller than the irritated dimes) spots that have eventually increased to as big as (if not bigger than) the dimes. After using a cream that's also used to treat athlete's foot, hypopigmentation has emerged in new areas across the top of my head and above my eyebrows...PLUS I am starting to see the beginnings of discoloration around my eyes (which is disheartening). Have also completed an anti-fungal series of pills, which did nothing. This has all transpired since this past June.
I told my dermatologist that I want to be aggressive with treatment. I've started taking ginko biloba (40mg, three times a day), I've been on Elidel since Friday and yesterday morning I had my very first UVB phototherapy session. My back is itchy and am questioning whether I should attend my second treatment on Wednesday morning. Am wondering - is three times a week excessive for an emerging case? As an emerging case of vitiligo, what treatments do you all recommend I employ? Any insights/advice would be much welcome!

Sherwin is in better position to tell more about the effectiveness Ginko biloba because he is using it.

Looks like you are doing all the right things. I ve had vit for twenty years. Worse than my spots and body image has been my itching. May I recommend you look into pepper oil. I just stumbled accross this treatment a couple days ago and made my own black pepper oil, Ive tried it for the first time yesterday and low and behold today is the first itch free day ive had in over 20 years. Blessings to you!
Congrats on discovering a potential remedy to the itching! Did you read about the piperine discovery? Did you mix the black pepper oil with a cream or another oil and apply?
