While I have been waiting for my protopic to take effect I have been looking for temporary solutions as well. I have tried soooo many tanners and make-up. For more of the smaller spots I found a concealer that is seriously a miracle worker. It is called Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer. I went into a Sephora and found a make-up artist to help me. I explained to her about my Vit and she was very kind and responsive. She then helped me find my perfect match for my face! She taught me how to apply it and it is even waterproof! My routine for maximum coverage and longevity is as follows:
Wash my face with Cetaphil
Apply SPF 55 to my face (I use one from Neutrogena)
Moisturize with Cetaphil Dry/Sensitive skin Moisturizer
Apply protopic to areas needed to be treated (let sit for as long as possible)
Then I finish with a powder (mine is just one from the drugstore).
I know this sounds like a long process but I can usually get it done very quick. I hope this helps for those of you looking for some cover up solutions!! Let me know if you have any questions :-)
I was thinking about asking about getting advice from a make-up person at the salon this week when I go in for a haircut. Being a guy, I have about zero experience with any kind of makeup. But, it might be nice to learn what to use/how to use it if I feel like hiding things. Since my vit just started, I'm just rolling with the punches for now.
Thank you Abby. That sounds great. My main problem areas are my fingers and my hands so the process might not be as long as what you might have to go through. I really appreciate your advice!
For little spots on my arms I use the same process except without the foundation and powder...I still use the primer and of course the concealer!! You are welcome and best of luck!!
Yes. Self tanner is a skin dye. If you have a darker complexion, I don't know of any dye, but makeup is an option. I have heard people say good things about dermablend and coverblend, but they would wash off when you wash your hands. Good luck!

Rub in protopic further...apply primer twice (apply once...let dry...second time let dry for 1 minute) this is the primer I use - http://www.sephora.com/photo-finish-hydrating-foundation-primer-P29...
Apply foundation all over face - this is what I use - http://www.sephora.com/hd-invisible-cover-foundation-P217905?skuId=...
Apply full coverage concealer - this is what I use - http://www.sephora.com/full-cover-concealer-P151107
Then I finish with a powder (mine is just one from the drugstore).
