    hi rani.......which part of india do u belong to.....there are treatments available despite popular belief that there are no options......u can read about oral minipulse therapy online.....thats one of the succesful allopathic mainstream treatment that i am aware of....cheers and good luck.

    There are many treatments available from various medicines. It all depends on how a particular treatment  respond to a person. It is believed the main cause for Vitiligo is due auto immune disease. An autoimmune disorder is a condition that occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body tissue.. Auto immune disease can trigger 100s of  problems and Vitiligo is one of them. Researchers and Scientists are still trying to figure out why this disorder happens. There is no known prevention for autoimmune disorders and also  no proven treatments . The reason why I am explaining this is since  there is no proven  treatment for the basic cause ( auto immune disorder ) , there is no proven treatment for Vitiligo also. Al medicines are trying is a  just trial and error method. It may work with somebody and might not with majority.

    Since your son is only 8 , you should give a serious try with various medicines. If homeopathy doesn’t work try Ayurveda. Or Narrow Band UV therapy if available in India.

    In my case, I have tried all possible known treatments without any success. So I am in the process of Depigmentation.

    You can get advises on this site. Also will be able to meet many people who has similar situation like you. How long ago  your son's vit started ??.  I am glad to share what ever I know with my limited knoweldge and experience

      my son z hvg vit from april 2011 dng homepathy but no result so far.....
