Nigella sativa oil

Nigella sativa has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries, both as a herb and pressed into oil, in Asia, Middle east, and Africa. It has been traditionally used for a variety
of conditions and treatments related to respiratory health, stomach and
intestinal health, kidney and liver function, circulatory and immune
system support, as analgesic, antiinflammatory, antiallergic,
antioxidants, anticancer, antiviral and for general well-being.

  • thanks for your reply nadika ..

i don't know if the oil reduces my blood glucose , so i think ill ask my doctor ..

about the apple vinegar .. i think i won't try this by now .. ill wait for the oil results first ..

vitiskin worked great on my hands .. but as its on hands .. patience is a must .. and patience means longer time for it to get treated (it works great) .. and this means more vitiskin to be bought .. which is out of my affordable expenses atm ..

thats why i stopped using it on my hands .. the only thing i apply on my hands is the nigella sativa oil .. and ofcourse the UVB sessions .. and will tell you the results soon ..

and the only vitamins iam taking is

    "Vitamax plus"

but what i think those are all bullshit ! .. the only best treatment is a healthy food ... a healthy body .. and a stress-less life ..
    • Ahmed !!! Thanks for your reply too.

Please check out this link - http://www.barakaoil.org/ (According to them, the black seed powder capsules are for immune enhancing and the oil capsules are for diabetics control.) I think I will switch to the powder capsules next time :) Treating Vitiligo is so complicating !!! Best wishes !!!
  • iam doing both .. twice a day .. a small spoon once i wake up .. and another before the dinner by two hours .. i also apply it to viti spots in my hands twice a day ..

beside this too , which may sound nuts , i use an organic apple vinegar !! .. i only apply it once a day on the morning before i apply the nigella sativa oil ..

reasons for all of this .. to be honest .. iam trying to lower the expenses of my treatment ! .. since i use elidel (as a cream on my face spots .. working great !) and using Vitiskin (hydro-gel that i apply to my back spots .. working great ! .. elidel wasnt good with my back spots !? ) .. and UVB sessions twice a week .. beside some vitamins ..

also ive read about this nigella sativa oil and apple vinegar being used by other people who have vitiligo .. and its working great with them .. so iam giving it a try ..

this is my current treatment .. and it is working nice .. but .. patience is a key .
    • Hey Ahmed !!

I started on Black seed oil capsules again today. Recommended dosage is 2 capsules a day in the morning - which comes to 1000 Mg. I was told to take it for a month - then start again after one week - so that the body will not take the oil for granted.

I don't know if you knew this - but - black seed oil, when taken orally, reduces your blood glucose level. I wonder if the 2 small / (tea?) spoons a day that you take is too much. This may sound funny - but the last time I took these capsules - there were some days when I felt the need to eat sweets :) I assumed that my blood glucose level must have gone a little low !!!

I did see the discussion here posted sometime ago about applying this oil and apple vinegar - but - ayurveda doctors here have said no to adding vinegar on food - so I was a little uneasy applying it on my spots!!!

Elidel sounds like Protopic (Tacrolimus) - which I am using now - since both work great on the face. I wonder if Vitiskin will work for spots on my hands / fingers ?? So far, only Elomet Ointment (a steroid based one) has worked. What vitamins do you take ?? Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, ZInc and Copper ??
  • Nigella sativa is also known as Black seed oil and Baraka Oil. Yes - it is known to enhance the immune system - which is good for us !! Do you apply the oil or take the oil in capsule form ?? I did both for about 6 weeks - which I must admit is not enough time to judge it too. Must start on it again soon. Good luck !!
