  • Hi Dennis,

I am suffering from this disease from past 5 Years,Have tried all  Allopathic treatments like sun exposure, ultraviolet radiation(NB UVB) and external applications, for three years in a row, but there were more Side Affects than the actual curing of my skin disorder..

Presently,I am taking Homeopathic treatment from Dr.Batras(http://www.drbatras.com/en/vitiligo),and yes,I am showing considerable progress..

I am taking dietary precautions,so avoiding red meat ,gluten products, junk food and most of the Packed food,as they contain a lot  of preservatives..

    • Hi Sandeep,

Thank you for the info and good luck to you.

      Dennis
    • Hi sandeep can you tell me how did you feel about NBUV-B treatment
      • Hi Sukrutha,

I took the treatment for 1 year, almost all of my patches regain skin pigmentation, but as soon as i stopped taking it,the De-pigmentation started again...

Although, along with this treatment,I was taking some prescribed drugs too,but the side affects were prominent enough, that I finally took a decision to shift from Allopathic and adopted Homeopathic!

Homeopathic treatment also uses UVB but through sun exposure, which is natural...so no harm is caused to your skin:)

        • hello sandeep, are you still taking dr batra's treatment for vitiligo? how has been your experience with homeopathy for vitiligo. thanks and best regards. jitendra

        • Oh Thank you for the info sandeep, I am taking Unani treatment( they prescribe Psoralins  for topical application and advice sunlight exposure) , its almost ayurvedic, with very less side effects and simltaneoulsy I started this NBUVB by taking that ayurvedic medicine internally. lets see whats gonna happen

                              take care

  • i have two topical creams. One is Protopic and the other is Clobetasol. Then sun exposure 3 times a week. When it is summer I use the regular sun but have used the tanning beds in the winter. This has helped but it also makes spots more noticeable because the skin around gets more tan and the Vitiligo stands out more.
    • Hi Alex,

Thanks for your reply. Good luck to you.

  • At this point, I've eschewed all traditional pharmaceutical forms of treatment and use a holistic approach.  This includes a low gluten diet, vegan meal planning, yoga exercises, the Master Cleanse, using lotions and cosmetics that come straight from the earth and not chemicals, and using Eastern medicine to treat common maladies instead of antibiotics and over-the-counter drugs.

I can't say that any one of these things alone has done the trick over the past two years, but I have experienced my vitiligo stopping its spread and actually a regeneration of my color in nearly all parts of my body... and my own condition was pretty advanced.  If for nothing else, all of my health fanaticism made me feel better and more energetic during the day, so I guess it counts for something.  It will take a long time to get to a point (if ever) when I can say all my visible skin (face, hands, feet, neck) are "cured", but I'll take the progress however it comes.  I will be posting pictures showing my progress sometime soon.

It wasn't easy to adopt this complete lifestyle change, but for right now, it seems to be working for me.  I hope that everyone out there will be able to find something that works for them and their goals.  Peace!

    • Hey guys!!!! And, no I don't have a major case of vitiligo but I'm on a mission to try and control it....I have read that it's easier to control the spread the earlier you seek treatment...I also love research so I am digging for information...I want answers that will work for me and others with vit!!!

Dennis you should check out google "Emily's vitiligo" her dad wrote a book and it's free online...great source of information!
