After I came to terms with my childhood issues including vitiligo issues, I was freed up to enjoy several creative passions. I was inspired to write poetry. I joined a poetry group and we published a book of our poems. I found a church home and developed many friendships through Bible studies, Christian clowning, and being a teacher of puppetry to children. I joined our metroparks photography club and love taking closeups of flowers and nature. I have had some on display and sold a few, too. I am working on a children's book about my life growing up on a farm, portrayed as a painted pony and her various adventures. It is a work in progress. My life really opened up because of the support of friends with vitiligo who listened to me vent and shared their experiences, too. I went through a few years of psychotherapy for various abuse issues, and I have 20 years of clean time with the support of 12 step programs. I was lost for a lot of years, but for the last 10 years I have been living with a purpose of making each day a day of rejoicing and growth. I have received so many blessings by reaching out to others by visiting the homebound, hospice visitation and ACS Relay for Life events. I guess I am just trying to say I really value life now and I thank God and many people for my spiritual awakening.
I am sharing my message of hope,
Blessings, Patty

P.S. I think the book you are writing sounds very interesting. Will it be addressing Vitiligo in any way?
