MICHAEL JACKSON WOULD OF BEEN A GREAT SPOKESMAN FOR VITILIGO BUT..............

Michael Jackson would of been the best spokesman for our cause if he would of embraced his vitiligo because who else on the face of this Earth would of been so universally popular than him.They say that Michael Jackson was the 3rd most recognizable person in the world after Santa Claus and Mickey Mouse. There's not another person alive who could of brought more attention to vitiligo awareness than Michael Jackson and too be honest their will probably never be another person with vitiligo who's universally noticed like he was I just wish he would of accepted his vitiligo instead of trying to hide it because it would of made it easier for people to understand it and maybe those same people would of accepted us more instead of all the staring and looking and whispering yeah I know that's never going too stop but at least more people would be familiar with it and also somebody like Michael Jackson could of lent his financial support to vitiligo research because with his money a cure for vitiligo could not have been that far behind and look at all the charities he donated money too over the years before he died I'm still mad because he didn't even donate a small portion to vitiligo causes nationally and globally

Do you know for a fact that MJ never made any donations to vitiligo research? I can feel your frustration through your post but to say he didn't accept it, I don't understand he still was out in the public eye and he made it known publicly that he had vitiligo. Maybe MJ accepted his condition and decided to live with it the way he was. With all the money he had and being a celebrity I am quite sure he would of tried to keep his color if he could. Maybe he didn't see vitiligo as a bad thing, everyone has a different perspective about vitiligo as that is seen on this network everyday. Actually MJ should give us hope in spite of how he looked he still was sucessful, people still accepted him, he didn't try to hide it or let the vitiligo keep him down. He went on with his life as usual (whatever that was for him) Don't get me wrong, I wish there was a cure but everyone does not share the same opinion about vitiligo and channelling towards MJ is not going to help us now. I like this group because we support one another and who knows maybe we can be the ones to help future generations by finding a cure.

I knew it! Thats all I ever said growing up. Why Michael isn't the spokes person for vitiligo or something. RIP, but whatever. Im so sick of hearing "Oh Michael had vitiligo", if so then why didn't he step up and support it like everything else that well known and in the freaking news. The man was a public figuar and the proff is in the pudding. Again, RIP but whatever, and if you say to me "oh so you got what Michael Jackson has" I might just cuse you out and make up some words along the way...lol.. Please don't get me started. I don't know no Mike, I never met no Mike, and I don't know what Mike had. RIP, but whatever.. I only know what I have. V.I.T.I.L.I.G.O.

I think this is a good discussion in case any of you lot become rich. Remember to donate to the cause! Do you want to be remembered like Michael Jackson or Michael J Fox? Not that MJF is dead but you that man is loved for all he has tried to do. He went from being a good person to being a great person.

  Hey Alexander I'm already a member of several Vitiligo organizations especially the National Vitiligo Foundation I pay my fees every year and I'm not part of any other organizations except for the vitiligo ones and if I had Michael Jackson's money I would of donated money to every Vitiligo organization in the world

  Dear Antuana I spoke to directors of several Vitiligo organizations and none of them said Michael Jackson supported them financially. Michael supported all other kinds of organizations mostly for children and remember when he did we are the world he was one of the people who came up with the concept for the song Michael Jackson did more for children than for Vitiligo which I'm not complaining about because children are special and they need somebody to look out for them, but when was the last time you actually heard about him donating any money to any Vitiligo causes, Michaels wealth was enormous he gave money to organizations all over the world but nobody has any record of him donating to any vitiligo charities and if he did wouldn't somebody have came forward by now and mentioned his charitible contributions we hear all about his support to children but his donations to vitiligo causes should of been equally matched !!!!!

All those millions of dollars Michael Jackson had and he could of easily donated money to every Vitiligo cause on Earth but he chose to create Neverland, Buy Expensive clothes for his pet chimp Bubbles and donates millions to children's charities all over the world. I would of been happy if he would of donated some of his money to the national vitiligo foundation or something because it's sad that he knew he had vitiligo but didn't donate any money to it's cause to find a cure because with the financial backing that he had we could of been close to a cure by now who knows ????

I agree. I'm very confused he never donated to vitiligo research. He had money for luxurious outfits for his chimp but not this? If I had that kind of money, I would set up an entire research foundation. It's the only thing that makes me doubt he had vitiligo. I mean, all in all, I'm convinced he had it ... but I know don't... I guess I'm just very confused about where his priorities laid. Michael J Fox created a foundation for Parkinson's. Even people who are going bald gladly would donate money for hair loss treatment research; just ask dermatologists, they'll tell you. So, what the hell was MJ thinking?

I think my main issue wasn't that he tried to hide it or didn't draw more publicity to the issue, but rather that the most noticeable public figure with vitiligo was also a plastic surgery fiend. We're promoting a campaign of accepting people just as they were born. It doesn't help our cause much when our poster child for vitiligo paid to have his face hacked away to the point of being unrecognizable compared to his God-given face.
