Leaky Gut Syndrome and Candidiasis

So, a couple of months ago, I began to take Metamucil fiber pills to help lose a few pounds before my birthday. While taking the fiber pills, I noticed some pigment coming back on my finger tips (which is the very first place I lost pigment 16 years ago). I thought it was because it was the summer time and I was getting a lot of sun. So I didn't think much of it. I stopped taking the fiber pills for about a month and noticed my progession had stopped. I decided to do some research and found a lot of very interesting articles on Leaky Gut Syndrome and Candidiasis. Candida is found in the gut and candida overgrowth occurs when there is more bad bacteria in the intestinal flora then good bacteria. The bad candida causes irritation and sporing to the intestinal wall so that it leaks undigested food and toxins into the bloodstream which causes leaky gut sydrome. There are many symptoms of leaky gut but the one that caught my attention was vitiligo. The leaky gut affects the immune system and can cause many autoimmune disorders. I also read in one of the articles that I posted below that "normal intestinal flora produces vitamins such as B12 and folic acid"....which many people with vitiligo are deficient in. By the way, leaky gut syndrome can also cause Irritable Bowel Sydrome. Candidiasis and leaky gut can be caused by food allergies which is why I think that a gluten-free diet can also help with repigmentation. Since these all have an affect on the digestive system, I believe that I am promoting better digestion by taking fiber pills which improves the immune system by removing toxins from the body. I also started taking a probiotic (lactobacillus acidophilus) which also helps promote digestive health because one capsule is filled with 100 million good bacteria so that there is no room for the bad bacteria. I am also taking a daily multi-vitamin as well as b12 and folic acid. Since I began taking the fiber pills again (along with the probiotic, multi-vitamin, b12, and folic acid) I can see the pigment slowly returning to my finger tips and the tips of my toes (just so you know, my toes get no sunlight whatsoever because of the shoes I wear) There is also a spot on my arm that is freckling very quickly. I haven't noticed any new spots either!  I honestly believe that we can cure our vitiligo from the inside out. There is so much more info in the articles that make me believe that there is a connection to vitiligo. I posted a few of the articles that I found and I hope that some of you will read the articles and tell me what you think.  :-) :-) :-)

    • Hi Aamir

Sorry it took me so long to reply. I am taking one mulit-vitamin, two capsules of fiber, 800 mcg of folic acid, 1000 mcg of b12, and one probiotic daily. I am also going to add ginkgo biloba because I've read that it might help also. The progress is slow but it has only been a little over a month. Some progress is better than none! You said you are taking B complex...is that all that you are taking?
